The Portable Door Lock That Adds Security to Any Hotel Room in Seconds

Hotel doors have keys – and so does everyone who has ever worked there. This portable door lock adds your own layer of security to almost any inward-opening door, with no tools needed.

Slide the steel plate into the door frame, close the door, fit the locking piece. In seconds, the door cannot be opened from the outside – even with a key.

The portable door lock: stainless steel plate, locking piece and cord

Why You’ll Love It

• Extra security in seconds – the slotted steel plate hooks into the door’s strike plate and the locking piece jams it shut, so the door stays closed from the outside.
• No tools, no damage – nothing to screw, drill or stick; the smooth steel sits in the frame without marking it, so it is hotel and rental friendly.
• Fits most inward-opening doors – works on hotel, dorm, rental and bedroom doors with a standard strike plate and a small frame gap.
• Pocket-sized peace of mind – the two steel pieces and cord weigh almost nothing and slip into a bag, pocket or wash kit.
• Quick to remove from inside – slide the locking piece out and the door works normally, so you are never trapped in an emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a portable door lock work?
The slotted steel plate hooks into the door’s strike plate (the metal slot in the frame). Close the door, then fit the crescent locking piece over the plate. It physically blocks the door from being pushed open from the outside, even by someone with a key.

Will it work on hotel doors?
It fits most inward-opening doors with a standard strike plate and a small gap between door and frame – which covers the large majority of hotel, dorm and rental doors. It does not suit outward-opening or sliding doors.

Will it damage the hotel door or frame?
No. There is nothing to screw, drill or glue – the smooth steel pieces simply sit in the frame gap. It leaves no marks, so it is completely hotel and rental friendly.

Is it easy to remove in an emergency?
Yes. From the inside, just slide the locking piece off the plate and the door opens normally. Removal takes a second.
