Frequently Asked Questions

Does a thermal printer need ink or toner?
No. Thermal printers work by heating special thermal paper, so there is no ink, toner or ribbon to buy. You only need 58mm thermal paper rolls, which are cheap and widely available.

Can I print labels from my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. The printer connects over Bluetooth 4.0 and works with both iPhone (iOS) and Android phones, as well as Windows PCs. Pair it once, then print from wherever you are.

What paper does a 58mm thermal printer use?
It uses 58mm wide thermal paper rolls (57 mm +/- 0.5mm) with a print width of about 48mm. Standard thermal till or label rolls in this width fit – just make sure they are thermal paper, not ordinary paper.

Do thermal prints fade over time?
Thermal prints can fade if left in direct sunlight or near heat for a long time. For shipping labels, price tags and everyday organisation kept indoors, they stay clear and readable. For documents you must keep for years, scan or photocopy them as a backup.
