How to Choose a Great Party Game for Kids

Party games need to be simple, sturdy and fun for mixed ages. Based on what parents ask us most, here is what to look for:

• Simple rules: The best party games need no explaining. Bounce the ball, count your hits, try to beat your best – that’s it.
• Durability: Wooden paddles outlast flimsy plastic ones, especially when the game gets competitive.
• No lost pieces: A ball on an elastic string means no hunting under the sofa – the game is always ready to play.
• Active play: Games that get children moving are always a win, especially as a break between party food and films.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play the paddle bat and ball game?
Hold the paddle and bounce the ball on it, trying to keep it going for as many hits as possible. The ball is attached by an elastic string, so it springs back – count your best rally and challenge your friends to beat it.

What age is this game suitable for?
It’s best suited to children aged 3 and over. Younger children may need help getting the hang of the bouncing motion, which is all part of the fun.

Is the paddle durable?
Yes – the paddle is made from wood rather than thin plastic, so it stands up to enthusiastic play at parties and at home.

Can it be played indoors?
Yes, but we’d recommend a bit of space. The ball is soft and attached by a string, making it safer than loose balls – just keep clear of lamps and ornaments.

Which design will I receive?
Designs are sent at random – Frankenstein, skeleton or witch. If you’re ordering several for a party, you’ll likely get a fun mix.

Is it good as a party bag filler?
Brilliant. It’s affordable, entertaining and reusable – children will still be playing with it long after the party bags are empty.
